I had the good fortune to intern for the set decoration dept. of "The X-Files" during the tail end of Season 8.
I was a U.C. Santa Barbara film student at the time and had the balls to write to 20th Cent. Fox to beg the show to create an internship for me since the show didn't really have internships at the time. For all I know, I was the first and only intern for "The X-Files."
It was an amazing experience being able to be behind the scenes, walk through the sets, and be there as David & Gillian did their lines in front of the camera.
I was (and still am) an X-Phile to the bone and this opportunity was a dream come true and even led to my current job which is still deeply involved with the set decoration of films, TV shows, and commercials.
Anyway, the above photo was taken on the last day of filming for Season 8. If you look between the 2nd and 3rd ladders, you'll see Gillian still in her bathrobe which she wore in the last scene of "Existence." Chris Carter and Frohike are behind her. David is between the 1st and 2nd ladders towards the back, also still in costume. And me? I'm also between the 1st and 2nd ladders, but towards the front. I'm the little Asian girl with the beige top and dark pants clasping her hands.
I'm excited as anyone that the show is back and feel grateful to have been a part of its making in the past.

It's so hard to tell who's who! Like I think I've spotted a couple different people but then I'm like..."is that blob really skinner?"
This must've been an amazing experience! I always thought if I were to work in Hollywood itd be as a set dresser.
Did you get to talk to any of the actors? I'm really really hoping I get to meet Nicholas Lea some day
